DiscoverPsychic is a collaborative writing project to build the world's largest how-to manual. DiscoverPsychic aims to help people by offering clear and concise instructions to solve everyday problems. Please be aware of things that distract from our mission, so you can avoid them.

1. Understand that DiscoverPsychic is not a chat site. Talk pages are provided for comments and collaboration relating to DiscoverPsychic. The main DiscoverPsychic site is not the appropriate place for having a chat with your friends or for talking about what you did at school today. Remember that all of your comments posted through the main site have to be viewed by a member of Recent Changes Patrol.
2. Understand that DiscoverPsychic is not a role playing site. Do not invent a fake persona for your DiscoverPsychic account. Do not impersonate a famous person or another DiscoverPsychic user with your DiscoverPsychic account.
3. Understand that DiscoverPsychic is not a joke book. We encourage you to give write articles with some humor in them, but they still should display useful information. If you must joke, go to a site where joking is accepted (such as Uncyclopedia or Encyclopedia Dramatica) and joke around there.
4. Understand that DiscoverPsychic is not a place to display your personal opinion about everything under the sun. Feel free to post political or personal opinions on your user page, but keep other DiscoverPsychic pages unbiased. Discussion pages on articles should be used simply to discuss the article and its content, and not your political opinion on the article's topic.
5. Understand that DiscoverPsychic is not a link farm. Article pages should contain useful information on topics of interest. They should not solely be made of links.
6. Understand that DiscoverPsychic is not an advertising platform for your products or services. Articles that are simply there to hawk a product or list its features are considered advertising and will be deleted.
7. Understand that DiscoverPsychic is not a place to post instructions on activities that are hate based or obviously damaging. Most of the people on DiscoverPsychic are good citizens, and we would hate to be blamed when someone reads an article about How to Give your Grandmother a Concussion and subsequently sends their granny to the hospital.
8. Understand that DiscoverPsychic is not a mirror or a file hosting site. Files that are uploaded or saved on the servers here must be used on active article pages, or DiscoverPsychic itself. Please do not gratuitously upload files to DiscoverPsychic - images and files uploaded must conform to DiscoverPsychic deletion, image, and copyright policies.
9. Understand that DiscoverPsychic is not a blog. You cannot control or own a page on DiscoverPsychic. Therefore, DiscoverPsychic is the wrong place to operate a blog or daily journal. There are many blogging sites available for blogging.
   
   
10. Understand that DiscoverPsychic isn't a totally safe website. The Internet is in a constant state of change. Everything is not always as it appears to be. A person may represent himself to be a thirteen year old girl but actually be a sixty-five year old man. A person may say they are a doctor while in fact they have no formal education at all. Watch out for trolls.
11. Understand that DiscoverPsychic isn't MySpace. All of your contributions shouldn't go into just editing your user page. A user page is designed for other users to get to know you. It's best to avoid putting the following on your user page if you are under thirteen (and if you are on DiscoverPsychic under thirteen, be sure that your parents sign a permission form.)

• your phone number
• your address
• your real name
• your full name
• as well as any content that could help an internet user identify who you are and get control of your life.
