The Revelation of Indigo Children
From DiscoverPsychic
In 1982, Nancy Ann Tappe wrote a book claiming that she had begun to see a new color of aura around children beginning to be born around that time. She claims that the Indigo child is the new version of humans that evolution has revealed. The Indigo children traits are characterized by a higher spiritual sense, even to the point of being psychic, and other differing factors from the normal. Nancy claimed that by now, 97 percent of children would be Indigo, or one of the blue children.
[edit] Indigo children traits
Some of the common Indigo children traits are:
- Paranormal abilities
- A strong sense of self-will
- Reluctance to follow authority
- A more creative mindset
- Belief in their own abilities above all else
- A strong need to make a great impact on the world
In many cases these blue children are diagnosed with problems such as ADD or OCD because they do not fit in very well with the rest of the social world. In many cases, an Indigo child has a greater chance of becoming suicidal due to their different nature, and the difficulty of fitting in with the rest of the world.
[edit] Impact on the social world
While most people don't really believe in the existence of the blue children, the concept has worked its way into popular culture and entertainment. Several bands have referenced the Indigo children, and there have been several indications of Indigo children on TV programs as well. There has even been a movie based on Indigo children. For those who really do believe in the existence of Indigos, there are Indigo schools that have been set up to train the mind of these special children in a few places around the world. These schools help the children learn how to open their spiritual minds and unlock the talents they possess.
[edit] Discussion of the Indigo movie
The movie "Indigo" was made in 2003, and deals with the occurrence of Indigo children in today's world. In this movie, the Indigo child plays a large roll in getting her messed up family back together. In the beginning of the movie, the mother is falsely accused of possessing drugs, and is placed in jail. The grandfather spends the movie trying to recover from a nervous breakdown, and eventually is reunited with the granddaughter, and they work together to get the mother out of jail. The little girl uses her Indigo powers to capture the real criminals, and in the end everyone is happy.
This movie doesn't really explain much about how Indigos really function, or how the little girl got so good at psychic powers without any instruction. Actually, this movie is pretty much an exaggerated version of what an Indigo is. Just because a child is more sensitive to the spirit world does not mean that he or she will be able to manipulate the world and other people. There really is hardly any one who can do that, and if Indigos are 97% percent of children alive now, then there should be more signs of spiritual activities from them, which there are not. Therefore, if Indigo children exist at all, they do not have supernatural psychic powers.
