The Most Famous Past Life Stories

The idea of reincarnation has been around for many years. Some of the earliest religions believe in the system of reincarnation. Today, although not as many people believe in this theory, it is becoming a resurging belief. There have been several scientists who believe in the existence of past lives. They have conducted past life investigations on children who seem to remember a past life.

Professor Ian Stevenson is one of the most famous scientists who worked with the idea of reincarnation. Stevenson worked with children over a period of forty years, who had claimed to have a previous life. His most famous case in his past life investigations was a boy who claimed to have been a mechanic who was recently killed in a car accident before the boy was born. The boy was correctly able to identify the exact details of the incident, as well as the names of the dead person's relatives, all without ever having any contact with the family, or even knowing about the family's existence. This is cited as being the clearest indication yet of the existence of past lives.

Some people who have past life stories are very famous and otherwise respected. Henry Ford, the maker of the Ford auto company, claimed to have been someone who fought at the battle of Gettysburg in the U.S. civil war. George Patton was also a firm believer in reincarnation, and claimed to see visions of his past lives. He believed that he was the reincarnation of the Carthaginian General Hannibal, citing this as his reason for being good at the art of war.

There seem to be thousands of references on the Internet of children identifying past life experiences, whether consciously or unconsciously. Some of the most well known are several different cases involving children. In fact, there are so many references and sources of children identifying past lives, that it almost seems like it really is true.

Some of the examples of children who have revealed the idea of past lives are quite interesting. There was a little girl who thought she had been a nun at some point, and was able to identify duties of nuns as well as some of their daily activities. The little girl was not even Catholic. Another little boy was able to sew buttons on his clothes without being taught. He told his mother he learned it at sea. There are many other instances of this as well.

It is possible that there are other explanations for these occurrences. It could be that children just happen to make these facts up, or that they learned these facts somehow without their parent's knowledge. In the area of the paranormal, it is possible the other spirits of the people whom the children claim to be, are visiting the children. Another explanation is that these spirits are possessing the children because they have unfinished business on earth. At any rate, the fact that these occurrences happen will probably never have a clear explanation.
