In the early 1970’s, the United States was fighting a Cold War against communism and the Russian imperialists who would threaten our safety without much of a thought. In military circles the discussion of psychic ability, and the potential for advanced intelligence gathering, was in response to increased research by the Russian government into the use of psychic abilities to discover and change current situations on the battlefield. The individuals who could be trained to perform this task were called remote viewers, and it was because of Russia’s current interest in psychic abilities and war, that Remote Viewing was examined by the United States.

The U.S. contracted the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) to begin testing and training military personnel in the use of Remote Viewing (RV). From that research, the military methods of Controlled Remote Viewing (CRV) and Extended Remote Viewing (ERV) were documented and practiced. Remote viewers were trained by the experts who were available from SRI, and protocols were developed in order to systematically eliminate reasons that an experiment might fail.

Ingo Swann, a psychic for the Stanford Research Institute, developed the protocols which became the basis for training Remote Viewers in CRV. The CRV method involves a Remote Viewer creating data filtered through protocols, using a pencil and paper to draw interpretations of the information received while sitting at full attention, using a table to separate the Remote Viewer and session monitor.

Though ERV is basically the same in that a Remote Viewer interprets information they receive through the Matrix, the session takes place in a dark room with the Remote Viewer in a prone position. The monitor is available to keep a record of the Viewers verbal interpretations of the results to ERV experiments.

After the U.S. government decided that the program was soon to be discovered, and information released regarding the Remote Viewing research they were conducting, the United States Military decided it was time to end the program in its secretive state. Soon after, the participant and trainers who were a part of the program dispersed from the training centers located across America. Many of the military personnel and trainers from the Stanford Research Institute continued to work with the protocols, and are currently training individuals in the process of Remote Viewing. Because of this, you may find that some of the original methods of this ability have been added to, and new names given to the process. Because until now the best information comes from the military tests and results, the CRV and ERV methods of Remote Viewing stand as the true methods of this ability, as they have been shown to be a success when used in conjunction with the protocols developed by Ingo Swann throughout the experimentation periods completed at the request of the U.S. government. Now that the U.S. has officially released transcripts, test results, and the training manual to the public, they state they are no longer in the Psychic business. From the results of the tests, we think otherwise.
