Many would find it extremely hard to separate myth from reality on the mystical, intriguing subject of past lives. Others are, however, firm in their belief that there is, indeed, a past life connection, especially those in new age groups. What makes this conceptual belief even more fascinating, are the many past life stories narrated by people who claim to have a strong recollection of their past lives. While skeptics will reject such unsubstantiated stories as myths, you may lend an ear with an open mind and heart, regardless whether claimed experiences of this kind have any credence, or not. Let's begin by unraveling the complexities of this debatable, paranormal subject.

[edit] How do people recall or relate to past lives?

1. Scientific explanation: Of the many theories presented on this subject, one affirms that recollections of another life are inherited via a person's D.N.A. However, this theory may appear to be merely an attempt to provide a scientific explanation of past life connection and experience, and lacks solid proof.

2. Spiritual dimension: The concept of spirituality describes every human as an eternal spirit. In order to achieve growth and experience, an eternal spirit is believed to opt for incarnations. As most of us are aware that our eternal spirits are present beyond space or time, referencing them may not apply to our linear concepts of time. Therefore, based on our spiritual essence, our incarnations occur in a sequential manner. Any segmentations between our incarnated lives, in terms of space and time, is something we may apply our limited conceptual skills to these phenomena. However, this may mar our comprehension of the reality affecting the nature of our various incarnations. Therefore, what we may describe, as our past or future life, are, equal in reality.

3. Quantum Physics theory: This theory states that there is an interconnection between all of creation, whereby a change of state in all parts can be the result of similar change in a single part, despite how far the parts may be in space-time. This is because all parts are but a combination of all aspects of a single entity at the fundamental level. The interconnections between all parts of creation go beyond the limit of space-time and are able to communicate and share information with each other. When measured against our understanding of quantum physics, our past life connection is more likely to occur from communication between two distinctly, separate, trans-medium incarnations, rather than an inherited recollection. However, it is impossible to confirm whether the two incarnations have a common spirit or soul. What is likely, though, is that our chances would be better to access lives that share a common soul with us, as we could naturally have an affinity for such a soul. Therefore, many past life stories may turn out to be genuine, while others evolve from medium ship or clairvoyance.

In conclusion, it may appear that every person has several past lives, and versus popular belief, such lives exist concurrently, rather than their distribution across space and time. We are, indeed, aware that there are some entities beyond ourselves with whom we communicate, but, it is hard to tell if these are incarnations of ourselves or those of other souls. As with any paranormal subject that cannot be fully explained by science or our own philosophical ability to analyze it, we may never find answers. For now, to believe or not to believe past life stories is left to individual discretion.
