Nostradamus' Predictions for World War III

• "The year 1999 seven month, _From the sky will come a great King of terror: _To bring back to life the great King of Angolmois, (the Mongols), _Before after Mars to reign by good luck."

To many this quatrain is describing the attack on the World Trade Center in New York. It has also been linked to the third antichrist that can be interpreted as President Bush. This goes to show that everyone will have their own take on the writings.

• There are other quatrains that lean toward the fact that he was indeed predicting an attack on New York City, such as this one, "At forty-five degrees, the sky will burn, _Fire approaches the great new city, _Immediately a huge, scattered flame leaps up _When they want to have verification from the Norman." The location and description make it the most likely choice.

• "The king will want to enter the new city, _Through its enemies they will come to subdue it _Captives liberated to speak and act falsely, _King to be outside, he will keep far from the enemy."

This quatrain is thought to be an allusion to terrorism, which is something all too real to America. It also implies that some traitors (terrorists) have been set free.

What Could Happen in the Future for World War III: The Last Two Quatrains:

• "Garden of the world near the new city, _In the path of the hollow mountains, _It will be seized and plunged into the Vat, _Drinking by force the waters poisoned by sulfur."

This quatrain is frightening indeed because of the implication that water is to be poisoned. This has always been thought of as a possible way terrorists could attack. The new city is obviously New York, but the garden of the world is thought by some to be Washington DC.

• The last quatrain speaks of blood being spilt and does not mince words about fire taking over the city. No one can be sure but this last quatrain could be what this country can expect at the end of the War in Iraq. "By fire he will destroy their city, _A cold and cruel heart, _Blood will pour, _Mercy to none."

In the end all Nostradamus predictions are up to the reader to decipher and decide. When you read them you will choose whether or not to see the ultimate connection between what is happening in today's world and what he wrote so long ago. For nonbelievers, it may be hard to believe that this man could have seen our downfall with terrorism and politics, but the possibility stands strong. No matter how you interpret these quatrains, it is hard to ignore the fact that they stand for something in today's society.
