Is there compelling proof of an afterlife?

The after life is a strange and unusual existence. It is something most people believe in, though there are different views and opinions about what it is and who goes where after we die. But, is there proof of a life after this one? It is a question so many people ask, but very few can answer with complete confidence.

Proof of afterlife is not a science. There is no standard a person can follow to state whether or not someone has absolute proof. Some people say proof of the after life exists because they have seen a ghost or some sort of entity not of this world they can't explain. Other people have had dreams and/or visions they say are proof there is an afterlife. Some people claim to have experienced an afterlife after having a near death experience, and being brought back after their heart has stopped and body has shut down. But, you would have to take their word for it. Last, but certainly not least are the religious beliefs throughout the world. These all dictate an afterlife in some form or another.

The closest to the after life that anyone has ever gotten and lived to tell about are those who have had near death experiences. There are hundreds of these stories, and many seem to collaborate with each other in several areas.

The first has to do with a light. This light is filled with more love than anyone could possibly imagine. Many people also report having watched their own life with full awareness of the feelings of themselves and those involved with them during that portion of their life. The light is said to give unlimited knowledge and allows a choice for the individual to either go back to their life to remain in the light. Most people report sightings of angels and just knowing that the light was God. They realize that their souls are immortal and eternal and there is a sense of timelessness. One person reported seeing colors they had never seen before.

There are also those who report not such pleasant experiences. Strange beings, dark, foggy places and pain beyond compare have met them soon after death. One person claims to have been saved from what he believes to be hell by a “friend” and brought into the light – God.

Though there seems to be proof of after life when this life is over, there is no absolute evidence that everyone will believe. But, what does an after life mean for human beings? For many, the knowledge that life exists beyond this one gives them a sense of hope and reassurance that they will live in, usually in a much better place than we live in now. For others the thought of an after life terrifies them, as they feel very unsure about what will happen to them. Still for some, there is the idea that no afterlife exists and that when you die that is it – the end of consciousness as you know it.

Some people who have never talked to or had a near death experience simply believe there is proof of afterlife simply by having faith and reading books such as the Torah, Bible or Qu'ran. But, for many that is just not enough. Until they see scientific evidence there is no afterlife that exists for them.
