From DiscoverPsychic

Jump to: navigation, search

So you are going to change your name when you get married, or perhaps you wrote a how-to article that you wish you hadn't and now when your friends Google your name, that article comes up. Relax, there is an easy way to update or remove your name from all of your DiscoverPsychic articles.

[edit] Steps

  1. Check in the upper right corner of your screen to see whether you are logged in to DiscoverPsychic. If you don't see your username click to log in.
  2. Access your preferences in the left hand navigation bar under the My Pages heading.
  3. Scroll down to the User profile box.
  4. Change your real name to your new real name, or to any name you wish as long as it fits our username policy. You could choose your initials, Anonymous or Ron Canada or whatever name suits your mood.
  5. Change your nickname (for signatures) in a similar manner. NOTE: Having a nickname different from your real name is not recommended by the DiscoverPsychic Username Policy.
  6. Notice that DiscoverPsychic will immediately make the change on every page you have written. Google will update its database in a reasonable amount of time as well.

[edit] Tips

  • If you leave the Your real name and Your nickname fields blank DiscoverPsychic will use your Username to attribute your work.
  • It is not recommended that you change your name without good reason. Changing your name can confuse other editors on DiscoverPsychic who have come to know you by another name; using a name consistently is an important part of building trust in the community.
  • If you cannot figure out to change your user name, contact an administrator and they can change it for you.
