The proof of the pudding lies in the eating. This is exactly why people endeavor ceaselessly to capture paranormal activity on camera. There is a small glitch here: ghosts are not captured easily on camera. It takes not only tremendous effort and planning for photographing the paranormal, but also it is something that is highly demanding and taxing on the mind. Keeping in mind that most of the ghosts you would see with the naked eye are made of light and electromagnetic matter trapped in the Universe, it is understandable why haunted photos are not easily available.

There are many theories about the laws that govern ghosts. Some say that there are seven planes through which the soul ascends to Heaven. Saintly, or holy people, cross these seven planes easily and become one with God very soon after their death. However, those who have not lived an exemplary life, died suddenly, left people behind who sorely grieve for them, die horrible deaths, were badly betrayed, or died with wishes unfulfilled would choose not to complete this journey to eternal peace. They would rather "hang around" to complete their "lives". This is why most of the haunted photos of ghosts or proof of their existence would be around the places of their death, places they wanted to visit or places where their dear ones/ murderers lived in.

Other theories say that the Universe "records" everything that happens every second and randomly plays it back when the circumstances are conducive. Though science has tried hard to explain the reason of apparitions at certain places, while in other places you only "feel" their presence, it has arrived at a totally plausible answer. The pictures, though difficult to take, go a long way to reinforce the fact that there are many, many things that the human mind is yet to understand and rationalize.

In the end, they were happy to photograph and record the surroundings where the ghost or ghosts had been seen. This is how the hobby of taking different haunted house pictures was born. The digital and computer era further simplified this task as with the help of this technology, one could monitor the chosen area round the clock and capture pictures that are triggered by the slightest shift in electromagnetic forces, light, sound, etc.

Some people say that even these become "the haunted photos" as they represent the place the ghost resides. It somehow carries within some of the powers derived from the ghost or the place from where it was captured. Many people have shared that the haunted house pictures they had taken did affect the way they thought and behaved. Sometimes they even felt odd and unexplained movement, sudden chills, sounds or other phenomena after getting the haunted photos in their homes.
