[edit] The kitchen stove
Your stove, or cooker, is an essential part of the kitchen. One of the feng shui secrets says that the stove is representive of your personal ability to reach your full potential. This means, in terms of feng shui living, the more that you use your stove, the more you will be able to reach your potential in terms of wealth, health, and even romance. However, even though the stove may be a positive aspect of your kitchen, it does not need water sat on the stove for extended amounts of time, as it can dampen your spirits, literally speaking. In the same way, you should empty the kettle when you have finished using it.
[edit] Clutter in your kitchen
The more tidy people amongst us would be exasperated at the sight of unkempt clutter accumulating along the kitchen surfaces. In terms of feng shui living also, clutter is unwanted. Having clutter in your kitchen manifests itself as representive of any excess weight in your life. If you are trying to lose weight, and want to keep the extra pounds from your waistline, make sure you keep the clutter at bay, and your worktops and kitchen cupboards are kept clear of anything you don’t really need to have.
On the other hand, having a junk drawer to store those odds and ends is perfectly acceptable. Just make sure that you keep the drawer organised, so the clutter is easy to navigate through! Investing in a drawer organiser that has different compartments could be a good idea.
[edit] The entrance to your kitchen
Make sure that when you are cooking, you have a clear view of the door. Feng shui secrets tell us that this means we will be more able to see opportunities as they enter in other areas of our life. If you are cooking and facing a wall, set up a mirror so you can see a reflection of the door way, or alternatively, a shiny stainless steel kettle could allow you to see the reflection.
[edit] Making your kitchen a comfortable environment
As you will be spending a lot of time in your kitchen, it is important that it is as accommodating as possible. Have comfortable seats available in the kitchen area. Feng shui tells us that this will make it easier for you to get support and love in life. This can be supplemented by having a bowl of fresh fruit on display, as this will also support your physical and emotional well being.
