Paranormal means to look into the past, present and future lives of people has widespread popular belief. However, due to lack of information and authenticated theories, skeptics are still not fully convinced whether some people are truly gifted with a sixth sense. As this paranormal sense cannot yet be explained by modern day scientific methods, belief or skepticism is left to the discretion of the individual. As the term suggests, these readings are conducted by 'psychics' who are endowed with extraordinary mental powers, casually referred to as a 'sixth sense' but universally known as Extra Sensory Perception (ESP). Psychic advice specifically relates to the revealing of a person's past, present, or future and may include that person's relationships, love life, stress, ailments, success, or failure in life. Through the different methods they employ, psychic readers believe they can link to a higher level of consciousness which helps them to look deep into the lives of clients that consult them.

List of popular reading methods used: There are several methods that psychics use to arrive at an accurate reading. However, the most popular and sought after methods are as follows.

Astrology - This reading is based on a client's date and time of birth, as well as the position of certain stars and planets at the time.

Tarot cards - For this, a psychic will request a client to concentrate his or her energy into the pack and pick one or more cards. The cards chosen and data printed on them are analyzed, and a final reading is delivered.

Numerology - This also involves a client's birth date and time. Psychics study the numerals of these, and arrive at a number which can reveal that client's personality.

Palmistry - This is also a popular method used by psychics, whereby they study the various lines of a client's palm (right for men, left for women). The future that each line reveals is read out to the client. Such lines include fate, fame, head, heart, health, life, marriage, money, sex, etc.

Telepathy: This involves two or more people, although they don't necessarily have to be in the same place. It entails the transmission or receiving of thoughts, to or from another person via an emotional or mental link.

Clairvoyance: This is often called a 'second sight' or 'sixth sense'. Here, the person can perceive events occurring at a place other than that person's present one and without previous knowledge of the event.

Precognition: This is known as 'foresight' or 'fortune telling', and claims the ability to predict happenings in the future.
