Destiny

What is destiny? It is commonly referred to as the belief that there is a predetermined (fixed) order or outcome in the future of our universe. One of the most contemplated thoughts for people that do believe in destiny seems to be "what is my destiny?" The belief that once a destiny has been decided there is no way around fulfilling destiny, has been handed down for generations.

Many believe that destiny is actually made up of Karma and your personal Karma, existing inside of you, is a collection of everything you have said and done. For example, if a venomous snake takes a drink of water it becomes poison, however, if a deer takes a drink of water it becomes antlers. If you give water to the snake and tell it to make antlers it is impossible. It is believed that this type of Karma is known as fulfilling destiny. Whether you believe in destiny or not, it certainly gives you something to think about.

Naturally it is believed that because one lives in a physical body they are able to be alone and have secrets that no one knows about. However, if you are familiar at all with Karma, Destiny and Fate you may believe that this is not true at all. According to some beliefs you are never completely invisible, your soul is open to Karma, Destiny and Fate, and as such, you cannot have secrets from them. This is the reason that for some people there can be no changing of their destiny, no matter how much they try to change their outward persona, their inner souls are still exposed.

The element of chance in the universe is a kind of theme that has run from antiquity to modern times. It has been said that no matter how far one goes in the expression of the laws of nature, the results will always depend in an unavoidable way on what is considered independent contingencies that occur outside the context of scientific research. Even for those that do not believe in destiny there seems to be at least a little bit of logic in some of the thinking.

Yes, we have free will, meaning you are free to take whatever first step you choose, but as soon as you take that step your second step becomes inevitable and basically predictable and so one with each additional step. For example, say you are going to plant a tree, as long as you have not done it, you still have plenty of options. You may choose not to plant the seed at all. You may choose the type of tree you wish to grow, but once you have made that decision and acted upon it, your choice is limited. If you planted an apple tree then no matter what you do you cannot get any other fruit from that tree, a direct result of your choice.

Karma says that all that happens in one's life is a result of his or her deeds, so perhaps what happens after that is considered fulfilling destiny.
