Best Kabbalah Centers in the US
From DiscoverPsychic
Kabbalah is an ancient study of the spirit. Its roots are an occult offshoot of Judaism or Jewish beliefs that are steeped in mysticism. The first present day Kabbalah Centre was established in Jerusalem in 1922 by the Rav Yahunda Ashlag. Kabbalah energy is believed to be able to delve spiritually into ones self to find the keys that will unlock the mysteries of the universe and transform us into higher beings. There are 10 Kabbalah Centers and 40 satellite centers in the US according to the Kabbalah website. The best known Kabbalah Centres are located in Los Angeles and in the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York. The Centers in both Los Angeles and Manhattan were established by Rav Phillip Berg, his wife Karen, and sons Michael and Yehuda.
More is known about the Los Angeles Center, which was established by the Berg’s in 1984, due to the celebrities that attend events, study there and praise Kabbalah energy as the means of their success in life. Celebrities that practice Kabbalah include Madonna, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Donna Karan, and Guy Ritchie. Madonna has reportedly introduced the practice to Lindsay Lohan and Brittney Spears. She has reportedly generously donated millions of dollars to the center since she started attending services, and single handedly funded the building of the Kabbalah Center in London.
Even though Kabbalah claims that it is not associated with any organized religion, there are a lot of similarities that link it closely to the Jewish faith, including the celebration of traditional Jewish holidays. However Kabbalah does differentiate from the Jewish faith in that they do rely heavily on astrology, the metaphysical, and Kabbalah energy in their teachings. They believe that the Jewish religion has always been steeped in astrology, however the practice of astrology was lost to the Jewish faith many years ago when Kabbalah became a highly guarded secret and was only taught to a select few.
Kabbalah teaches that they hold the keys to the mysteries of the universe and its creation, as well as unraveling the mysteries of Adam and Eve’s creation. They also believe that there is a very close relationship between the physical and metaphysical plane, therefore using Kabbalah energy as they have been taught that disease and the misery and suffering of the body and soul can be eradicated in a person‘s life. They believe by studying the Zohar and practicing the faith, we as humans can be transformed to higher beings. They do not believe in death as such, only that the end of this life is the beginning of another journey and that we are reincarnated to either a higher or lower being depending on our actions in this life.
The Kabbalah Center does offer products for sale as well, and is reportedly making a tidy profit from their sales. The red string bracelet that they claim protects the wearer against the power of the evil eye is a very popular item for believers. The Zohar is available for purchase as well as the Kabbalah health water that is touted to help to cure disease as well as having several other health benefits. They also offer studies online as well, and have an online store that can be used to purchase learning materials that have been written by The Rav (which is what Phillip Berg is referred to), as well as various Kabbalah products such as candles, incense, and the red strings mentioned above.
