[edit] Allison Dubois: Not Just Another Medium

Anyone who actively follows the psychic world has heard of Allison Dubois. You may have even wondered how to contact Allison Dubois for a reading. Even if you don’t follow the psychic world, you probably watch television and have heard of the show Medium, which is based on her life. Allison is a medium, which means that she sees and speaks to dead people. While many claim to be mediums with this ability, Allison is special among this elite group.

[edit] Allison’s childhood

You may have picked up an Allison Dubois biography and read a bit about this fascinating woman. For those of you who aren’t familiar with her history, you might be interested to know that she began communicating with the dead at a very young age. She was born on the 24th of January in 1972. Her birthplace was Phoenix, Arizona, where she still lives.

[edit] Mediumship

Allison experienced her first conversation with a deceased person at the age of 6. Cancer had claimed her grandfather’s life. The funeral had been a very confusing experience for Allison and she really did not understand what had happened. That night, her grandfather appeared to her in her room. He let her know he was alright, and to deliver the message to her mother, saying he was no longer in pain. Allison did as she was asked, however, her mother did not believe her, and they never talked about the incident again.

If you have read an Allison Dubois book, you may already know that these visions continued throughout her young life. Another notable experience happened to her at the age of 11. While riding her bicycle around her neighborhood, she was approached by two men in a car. They kept trying to talk her into getting into the car. Getting very nervous, Allison suddenly heard a very loud voice telling her to go right then. She did take off and told her mother about everything when she got home, but it was not reported to the authorities. When a boy was kidnapped and attacked later that year in her neighborhood, Allison felt she had been saved from a horrible fate that day.

[edit] High school and college

Allison attended Corona del Sol High School in Tempe, Arizona, and graduated in 1990. She went on to attend Arizona State University. It is while she was studying for her degree that she began an internship with the District Attorney’s Office in Phoenix. She also spent 4 years at the University allowing tests to be performed regarding her psychic abilities to help in their paranormal studies.

[edit] Marriage and television

Allison is married to Joe Dubois, who is a recently retired aerospace engineer. Together, they have 3 daughters. Joe became Allison’s manager once she went public with her abilities. It seems that their daughters all have psychic abilities in different areas.

She was one of 3 mediums who were tested regarding a television series, and as we know, Medium resulted from that. The one thing she says is different from her real life and her television life is that most of her visions happen when she is awake. The television show has her visions coming to her in dreams most of the time. The first Allison Dubois book was published following the television series.
