A Basic Look at Indigo Children

An Indigo child is supposedly the new age belief that the next level of evolution has arrived. These Indigo children, so called because supposedly they have an Indigo aura, are the next step in the evolutionary process. According to some, Indigos first started showing up in the late 1970's, and by now nearly 97% of people born after the year 2000 are Indigo children. The rest of the people born after 1970 are estimated to be 60% Indigo.

What defines these Indigo children characteristics is a basic thought of self-importance. These Indigo children supposedly have a higher need to make an impact on the world, and have trouble following other's directions, as in authority situations. They have shorter attention spans, and are more likely to do their own thing. Indigo children are attributed with advanced wisdom and thought processes, and are usually thought to believe that they are entitled to everything good in life. These Indigo children are identified by their Indigo aura by spiritualists who claim to see such things. Many Indigo children are diagnosed with such problems as ADD or OCD, because of their short attention spans, and obsession over details. However, those who believe in the existence of these newly evolved Indigo children claim that rather than these children having problems, they are really just the newly evolved direction that humans will take.

Since the main defining factors of an Indigo seem to be social rejection, the best place to look for these Indigo children is among social rejects. Children, who have been labeled as "problem" children, have a good chance of being Indigo. Also children who think in a different manner than the average person probably are Indigos as well. Additionally, a good place to look for Indigo children is among those children who have been diagnosed with such problems as ADD and OCD. When you suspect a child of being an Indigo, look for the other Indigo children characteristics before deciding if they are Indigo or not. Then, if you strongly believe that a child is Indigo, perhaps taking them to some kind of psychic or other spiritually aware person who can see auras will let you know for sure if you are working with an Indigo. If what the Indigo experts say are true, most children now are Indigo children anyway.

The fact that so many people now are Indigo people, and especially all of the children, it means that the old ways of doing things need to change to fit the new direction that society is taking. Since these Indigo children have shorter attention spans and more creative thought, the traditional way of teaching children are boring them and driving out all their creative inspiration. There actually are schools specifically designed for Indigo children, but any school with a more creative focus will do for most. Since the Indigo children are more self-actualized and resistant to authority, government will probably be changing much more in the next hundred years. The chance of war will probably go down, and more individualized processes will go up. More Indigo children will end up working for themselves as well, because they will not be content to work for someone else.
